Casey Affleck is an American actor and director known for his versatile performances in both leading and supporting roles. He was born in 1975 in Falmouth, Massachusetts, and is the younger brother of actor Ben Affleck.
Affleck began his acting career in the mid-1990s with small roles in films such as “To Die For” (1995) and “Good Will Hunting” (1997), which was directed by and starred his brother. He then went on to star in films such as “American Pie” (1999), “Ocean’s Eleven” (2001), “Gone Baby Gone” (2007), and “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford” (2007).
In 2010, Affleck received critical acclaim for his performance in “The Killer Inside Me”, directed by Michael Winterbottom and in 2016 for his lead role in “Manchester by the Sea” which he won an Academy award for Best Actor. The film also earned him nominations for Golden Globe and BAFTA award for best actor.
In addition to his acting career, Affleck has also worked as a director and screenwriter. He made his directorial debut with “I’m Still Here” (2010), a mockumentary about actor Joaquin Phoenix, and also directed “A Ghost Story” (2017).
Affleck has been married to actress Summer Phoenix since 2006 and they have two children together. He is known for his low-profile life, avoiding the spotlight and media attention as much as possible.
